Earning your high school diploma is no easy task. That’s a given.

When you have to combine that with early, frantic mornings, high school can be brutal.

We’re not saying that the mornings will ever be glamorous. And we’re certainly not saying that there’s a magical place where all your cares can melt away (thanks to the blazing Arizona sun).

But sometimes the traditional route through high school just isn’t best for you, especially if your friends don’t describe you as a “morning person.” Online high school certainly has its benefits, which you can read more about here.

For now, let’s focus on those mornings:

1. Every morning, day after day, looks like this

You’re awake at the crack of dawn, still trying to wake up as you walk out the door. What’s worse, you’re dreading arriving at school, which means you’re certainly in no rush to get to the car.

2. You get the daily “look” from mom

“Let’s go!”

We’re all too familiar with this mom’s face. But, if you’re being honest, you can’t really blame her. Waking up early only to wait until you’re ready to get to class isn’t exactly the favorite way to spend the mornings, either.

3. So You pick up the pace

You’re probably going to be late anyway, why rush? Besides, it’ll be the same old thing: school drama, loud, distracting classrooms and piles of homework.

4. When you make it to class, this lovely seat awaits you

We’ve all experienced something like this at one point in our lives. You’re one of the last to arrive to class, which means all eyes–including the teacher’s–are on you. If you’re lucky, the teacher won’t make a comment and you can quietly, take your place.

But even then, you still have to take that seat.

Does that morning sound familiar?

Some students enjoy heading to class each day, and that is a great thing. Online high school students, oftentimes, like to follow a different morning routine.

Morning Routine of an Online High School Student

1. Online Students can start their day like this

A beautiful, sunny day awaits you. At Primavera, you can start class at the time of day you prefer. Students are expected to spend about three hours a day per course (full-time is two courses). If you want to wake up early and finish your schoolwork early in the day, great! If you prefer to sleep in and finish schoolwork later, that’s your choice. Either way, there’s no commute.

2. They can also study at the location of their choice

Online students need a computer and internet connection. From there, they can study where they choose! Whether that’s at home, library or outdoors soaking up the sun.
