Each month, our teachers nominate a student they feel has gone above and beyond, and we get the opportunity to get to know them and shine the light on them a bit in this blog! Check out their stories below:

High School Student of the Month: Collin Codding

Collin is an 12th grade student was nominated for Student of the Month by the Student of the Month Committee. The committee chose Collin for his “current outstanding academic performance and his history of excellent grades here and at other schools”

Let’s get to know Collin!

Question: Why did you choose Primavera?

Collin: The flexibility of the schedule and how fast I can get work done

Question: What would you like your classmates to know about you?

Collin: I’m an aspiring artist who’s looking to make a career or part time out of my passion!

Question: What makes you a successful student?

Collin: Staying focused, making sure to pace myself effectively without burning myself out. If I have work to get done, you get it done; don’t push it off like some other people may do!

Question: What advice would you give other students to be successful?

Collin: Find something that you want to work towards, this could be something like moving out on your own to live with a loved one, start a career or business, going to college. All of these things will motivate you to want to keep working your hardest and to keep on moving forward!

Question: What do you want your teachers to know?

“Every teacher I had while attending this school so far were incredibly professional, and I can definitely tell that a lot of them genuinely loved the topics they were teaching! Most especially my teacher Ashley Skolrud! I absolutely loved how he taught her English 12A and English 12B classes, I could tell she loved what she does.”


High School Student of the Month: Keri Ager!

Keri is an 11th grade student was nominated for Student of the Month by Ms. Kim Franzen. Ms. Franzen states that “Keri works hard on every assignment. She will call or text whenever she has questions or just not sure of what she needs to do. Then she will submit work that is detailed and shows a complete understanding of the concepts. Great Job :).”

Question: Why did you choose Primavera?

“It gave me the opportunity to pursue my extracurricular interests on top of still being able to participate in a high standard education.”

Question: What would you like your classmates to know about you?

“I’m an average student with an interest in art and psychology.”

Question: What makes you a successful student?

“My dedication to continuing my education.”

Question: What advice would you give other students to be successful?

“Asking for help doesn’t make you less educated than any other student. Teachers are there to help you no matter the simplicity of your questions, and utilizing that help can do more good than you might expect.”

Question: What do you want your teachers to know?

“I am thankful for each and every one of you that I’ve worked with through the entirety of my Primavera education up until this point. Whether it be your patience, or your understanding of my questions, you have all been a huge help to me.”


High School Student of the Month: Zoe Fuller!

Zoe is an 10th grade student was nominated for Student of the Month by Mr. Derek Robinson. Mr. Robinson states that “This is Zoe’s first year as a Primavera student and so far she has done tremendous in advocating for herself, staying motivated, and wanting to actual put forth her best effort within her classes. I recently learned about the hardships she has had to work through previously in her educational experience and background. Needless to say, her grit and desire to overcome difficult and challenging circumstances is commendable. I believe it also has helped shape her into the motivated, driven, young woman we have in class today. I look forward to seeing her continue to develop her academically as she is finally in an environment that will help her flourish and grow!”

Question: Why did you choose Primavera?

“I felt like it was the best place to focus on my education without the distraction of peer pressure.”

Question: What would you like your classmates to know about you?

“For almost 2 years I’ve been training several days a week to become a competition boxer. I’ve also recently earned my camo belt in karate/taekwondo. I have my white belt in jiu jitsu and I’m preparing for my first martial arts tournament at the end of this year.”

Question: What makes you a successful student?

“I make school my priority of the day above all other activities. I also think that communication with my teachers is very helpful.”

Question: What advice would you give other students to be successful?

“Don’t give up and try to keep a good attitude even when times are tough.”

Question: What do you want your teachers to know?

“I just want them to know that I appreciate all the time, help and support they’ve given me throughout this year. Thank you to each one of you.”


Middle School Student of the Month: Wyatt Blinston!

Wyatt is an 8th grade student was nominated for Student of the Month by David Aleman. Mr. Aleman says that “Wyatt is always ready for sessions. He participates, gives insightful responses and a well timed joke to help move the class along. He is always willing to help his peers, share personal examples and share Frank his cat to anyone that needs a smile. Wyatt is passing his courses with high scores and submitting quality work.”

Question: Why did you choose Primavera?

“I chose Primavera because the school I was going to didn’t fit my needs. I need a nice, calm, and quiet area to focus and do my best.”

Question: What would you like your classmates to know about you?

“I am silly, love playing video games, and cooking. Trying new foods is always fun.”

Question: What makes you a successful student?

“I make a schedule and I have everything organized and ready to go. It really helps to keep track of everything that is due each week.”

Question: What advice would you give other students to be successful?

“Work in a well lit area with no distractions. Have all of your notebooks, pens or pencils, and calculator there and ready to use.”

Question: What do you want your teachers to know?

“I enjoy the live lessons each week. I try my best in all of my courses and I want to succeed. Thank you for being my teachers.”


Middle School Student of the Month: Jimmie Wilkins!

Jimmie is an 7th grade student was nominated for Student of the Month by Rachel Caylor. Ms. Caylor says that “Jimmie is tons of fun to have in class. She is so kind to her classmates. She has taken initiative to help me set up an activity where classmates can build community.”

Question: Why did you choose Primavera?

“It was a really good option when schools shut down.”

Question: What would you like your classmates to know about you?

Jimmie: I like pandas, video games and art my main hobby.

Question: What makes you a successful student?

“I take notes and try my best even when I don’t know the answer.”

Question: What advice would you give other students to be successful?

Jimmie: Try your best even if you don’t get it or you are stuck.

Question: What do you want your teachers to know?

“You guys are all the best teachers I have and are very patient.”


Elementary Student of the Month: Maxamillion Danger Schellin!

Max is an 4th grade student was nominated for Student of the Month by Ms.Lilette Smith Reaves. Ms. Reaves states that “Max attends every live lesson, participates in all discussions, and is very helpful to his classmates. He always turns in his work, and he ask questions when necessary. He is a great role model for his classmates.”

Question: Why did you choose Primavera?

“We chose Primavera because it’s all online and they have a good course software.”

Question: What would you like your classmates to know about you?

“I am an orange belt in karate. I have a dog named Zuma. I post gameplay videos on my YouTube channel and I like to code.”

Question: What makes you a successful student?

“I am always present, stay focused, and try hard on all my assignments.”

Question: What advice would you give other students to be successful?

“Never give up and think positive. Even if you can’t do something yet keep practicing. Practicing will make you better.”

Question: What do you want your teachers to know?

“That I appreciate them for all their help.”


Elementary Student of the Month: Amanda Nelson!

Amanda is a 2nd grade student was nominated for Student of the Month by Roseanna Hullinger. Amanda was chosen for her exemplary character. Ms. Hullinger says that “Amanda is such a role model for other students. She is on time to class, she follows the classroom etiquette expectations, she participates even if she is not sure of her answer. She is kind to others and doesn’t disrupt other students learning”.

Question: Why did you choose Primavera?

“We chose Primavera because it’s a good fit for our family. I learn better in a smaller controlled environment and the teachers online are very helpful and so is my family.”

Question: What would you like your classmates to know about you?

“I enjoy spending time with my family and love being outdoors camping and fishing. I also love doing art.”

Question: What makes you a successful student?

“I pay attention in class and listen to the teachers when they are trying to teach and help me learn. I really enjoy my small groups because they are very helpful.”

Question: What advice would you give other students to be successful?

“Be kind and do your best!”

Question: What do you want your teachers to know?

“I love my teachers and they always help me learn.”


Elementary Student of the Month: Jazlyn Farias Embarcadero!

Jazlyn is an Kindergarten student was nominated for Student of the Month by Heidi Goldsobel. Jazlyn was chosen for her exemplary character. Ms. Goldsobel says that “Jazlyn is always engaged in our classroom, polite and thoughtful of others, and has great leadership qualities”.

Question: Why did you choose Primavera?

“We chose primavera because it was the perfect school to assist with home schooling our children.”

Question: What would you like your classmates to know about you?

“I like the color yellow, bananas and I’m very fancy.”

Question: What makes you a successful student?

“My parents support and a good schooling schedule.”

Question: What advice would you give other students to be successful?

“To do your best always!”

Question: What do you want your teachers to know?

“That I’m grateful she’s the best (Ms. Goldsobel) and funny I love her.”
